Diamond Valley Community Association

Annual Report

OCTOBER 5, 2003

Phil Ball, who presided over the meeting for president Jim Bennett, called the meeting to order at 2:05 pm. Phil introduced the current board of directors and officers. Jackie Bennett motioned to accept the minutes of the previous years annual meeting, Phyllis Matthew seconded, passed.

Mary Morel reported on what the DVCA had been working on during the past year.

Kevin Greif reported on the water company. He noted that the Arizona Corporation Commission had administratively dissolved the Diamond Valley Water User’s Corporation, and that the ACC seems happy with the current situation and anticipates no changes. Although Bradshaw Management Company continues to operate the water system, through an agreement with the ACC, ownership of the water system remains in legal limbo.

June Nash, a Ramada Drive resident, reported that she and her neighbors have not seen any patrol cars on their street, and that the speeding problem has gotten worse. She also mentioned that the Ramada Dr. residents would not be happy if a traffic signal is installed on hwy. 69 at Ramada, as they worry it would only exacerbate the speeding. June wondered why the county does not install speed bumps, and also suggested that an electronic sign posting drivers rate of speed might be of benefit.

A general discussion ensued re speeding. Mary Morel reminded the attendees that there is strength in numbers, if everyone would get involved it would be easier to achieve solutions.

There was a request for volunteers to serve on the board of directors of the DVCA. The following people agreed to serve: Jim Bennett, Jackie Bennett, Mary Morel, Philip Tucker, Phil Ball, Renee Ball, and Scott Windsor.

The next meeting was scheduled for 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 30th at the Bennett residence. The meeting was adjourned at 3:15 pm.
